To catch everyone up on all that has been going on, I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching to bring you my Five for Friday!!
I started the week with an early-morning date with my husband to a DELICIOUS brunch at Brewhouse in Norwalk, CT. I'm a sucker for brunch (as is my husband!) and my mother-in-law CONSTANTLY teases us about not having done a daytime, brunch-themed wedding. Mmm... eggs benedict, made-to-order waffles and omelets, crab cakes, mimosas... YUM! And they have a gorgeous outdoor patio which we definitely took advantage of! :) Can't wait to go again!
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRANGERS!!!! The NHL Finals have begun!! Sadly, they lost game 1, but I am extremely hopeful for the rest of the series! I will be GLUED to the TV for the next week or so.
Wednesday marked exactly 10 years since my husband and I attended his PROM together! While we were just friends at the time and I was only a Sophomore, it was quite a throwback! The song of the evening was "Take My Breath Away" by Jessica Simpson and my darling husband came home, put it on the stereo, and asked me for a dance. It was ridiculously sweet and gave me reason 634 why I KNOW that I have landed the man of my dreams. I truly am a lucky girl.
I have been hearing about this book... for... ever!
I have been told to read this book... for... ever!
Welp! The movie is being released this weekend and the hubster and I took a trip to the bookstore to grab it. I'm hoping to carve out some time this weekend to power through it. I'm trying to ready myself for tears I will inevitably shed!
A Bronx Tale!
One of my all-time favorite movies (and definitely my favorite of the "mafia-genre"... er... maybe it is tied with Goodfellas! lol) is A Bronx Tale. For those of you who have not seen/heard of it, it centers around a young boy growing up in the Bronx in the 1960s. The boy witnesses a man murdered in the streets by the mafia, but doesn't open up when the police arrive. The mob boss takes the young boy under his wing and the story follows him as he grows up with 2 father figures -- the mob boss and a well-intentioned father, trying to guide him to steer clear of organized crime.
WELL, the movie was originally written by Chazz Palminteri as a one-man play. For my birthday this year, my father bought my husband and I tickets to see the show performed by Palminteri, himself!! I cannot wait to see how it plays out tomorrow night!
Quick Note:
Care of Kacey at Doodle Bugs Teaching, I will be linking up with the following blogs/bloggers through the summer! I encourage you to join in the fun! :)
I stayed up until midnight on Monday reading The Fault in our Stars and I bawled the last 25% (reading on my Kindle)!!! Get the tissues out!

ReplyDeleteI'm still on the fence on whether or not I want to read The Fault In Our Stars. I just finished up another tearjerker and I'm not sure if I'm ready for another one yet. I've certainly heard good things though. I also saw Kacey's summer schedule, so I'm trying to spread the word - sorry for the shameless plug - I'm starting a new linky party for the summer called Sell It Saturday. I have a smaller blog, but if you're ever interested in joining in, that'd be great!

DeleteI will definitely be checking our you linky! :) Hope you're wrapping up the school year nicely!
